sporting organisations say enough is enough!!
Too many times in our community we shake our heads when we hear about senseless death and trauma from road accidents, suicides, domestic assaults, drug overdoses, drug rage from ICE, child abuse, rape etc.
So its time we all collectively said ENOUGH is ENOUGH!! We are sick to death of this BAD news!!
We must create some of our own GOOD NEWS by addressing the root cause of all this BAD behaviour which is the organ between the ears. Our BRAINS!!! The problem is ALL above the shoulders in the way we think and in what we expect and what we accept!! Our job is to teach people how to have a RESPONSIBLE MIND. A mind that knows how to PUT THE BREAKS on violence, self-harm, drug use and crazy behaviour. To have a responsible mind we also need to have a healthy brain!!
Enter centre stage "the sporting organisation" !! In Australia we have thousands of sporting clubs & organisations. In Victoria, sports like AFL football (and cricket to a lesser degree) occupy a place not unlike that of a religion. While sporting organisations should not act like an authority on all moral behaviour they certainly do provide a great vehicle for carrying helpful knowledge to the masses.
In Australian sports we often hear teams say "lets go out there and Kick Ass" as an indication of how hard they aim to try. We also jokingly suggest that people should "watch their ass" as an warning that they need to prevent some trouble befalling them.
On this website we make the statement MIND YOUR R's (Aka Ass) to indicate the many types of R's or RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOURS a sporting organisation could target in HEALTH MARKETING efforts
This web site provides information to support responsible sporting, community and business leaders in running their own well-being events and/or fundraisers. Well being event organisers can explore the 'Mind Your R's' tab to decide which area of responsible behaviour they want to target. This website can also be used as a resource within clubs to provide key contacts (primarily in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne) for various well being issues.
