RESPONSIBLE Driving
What can clubs and organisations do?
1. Role models of correct behaviour-
Organisation and club leaders MUST promote responsible driving behaviours at functions or parties
2. Ongoing input of police as educators-
Inviting police officers to attend sporting clubs to reinforce all laws regarding roadworthiness of vehicles, drugs and alcohol
3. Learning from road victims-
At sporting club well being events parents can recount driving stories to 15-18 y olds. Hearing about accidents, effects and how these accidents changed parents behaviour can be a powerful learning tool.
4. Understanding Demerit points & financial impacts
Displaying publically in club rooms or foyers the demerit points facts and financial penalties of all road offences is a great motivator because it shows how bad behaviour hits the backpocket.

5. Promote the best driver learner programs-
If parents cannot provide effective training then seek out L to P Mentor program. At this point Yarra Ranges but NOT other eastern councils provide L to P Programs. Call your local council to demand this program be introduced in Whitehorse or Knox areas.
6. Consider bringing Driving Car simulator to you club by calling David Dressing from Safety Sense Oz.
